Well, dam. Let us know how it runs after repairs. Did you do all your oil changes, or the dealership?

A few weeks back I got some Dirt King MT 2.0 shocks, front and rear. Also got the billit UCAs. Had them installed today along with Icon add-a-leaf and the needle bearing replaced. Resulted in about 2” lift all around. Since I got the lift I also got new 265/75/16 Falkin Wildpeaks. Very happy with the lift and the shocks feel smooth. Was kind of worried about being to stiff but it’s very nice. Shout out to 8Runner in Portland, OR, nice job!

    Your welcome sir...

Why is that, mine have never clicked or anything...

I have never used the supplied stuff, I can almost trip over the cans of it in my garage...

Sorry to hear about this, but if you don't mind, do you mind answering a few questions??

    1) Were you always doing 5K or 10K oil changes??

    2) What oil and oil filter do you normally use?? Brand and weight??

    3) And lastly (for now anyway) who does the oil changes, a Toyota Dealer, Chain store shop, quick lube or full service shop, independent shop, or all/mostly DIYer??

    No names needed...

Just trying to figure out why needle bearings let go on one cam follower (rocker arm) on an engine known for double the miles, was it a fluke or something behind it that caused it...Lifter failure etc etc...

I would have to tear it apart looking for an answer... lol

Had her detailed(not me) professionally and looks like new, replaced both rear bumper caps since people have managed to hit and cracked them since buying it twice. Paint match was very good-angle and light makes it look more off than it is with lunar rock. Think i relove the truck again, but am nervous to go drive a 4th gen, there i said it.

Local dealer called it “brake pad release” each of the times I reported it under requested warranty repair. I replaced the pads around 45K, to include the pins (all OEM), used the magic grease, and the noise still occurred afterwards. Never cared enough beyond Dealer’s assessment to look into what exactly is going on with it; it’s either stopped after 75K miles or I’m used to it. I have a buddy with 2nd Gen and his makes the same noise(s).

Ran over a road hazard and gashed my tire a little. Hard to tell how deep it goes but it looks like it’s right on the thicker tread block.

Would any of you be looking to replace it if it was yours?

I would not replace. And I wouldn't give it a second thought.

What size are those wheels? Look like 9"? o_O

If you’re really worried about it, could always shoot some soapy water on it to see if it’s leaking at all. If not you could then try open it up gently and see if any plies are compromised. Like others have said you’re probably ok but hard to tell from pictures.

Check tire pressure over the next few days. If it leaks a bit I would plug and patch.
