The 4.0 is famous for a misleading whining noise. Sometimes its the alternator, sometimes its the idler bearing right beside the alternator.

A 20$ stethoscope will help isolate the noise.

Is it steady, or change with RPMs? Pop the belt off and start it. It’ll isolate the accessories from the engine. Then you could also spin the accessories by hand to see how everything spins and feels.
