    Hi everyone,

I'm planning to go snow wheeling this weekend. My friend bought a bumper kit from coastal off road and sadly they sent the wrong kit (after it was late already). We have a 12k smittybuilt winch stuck in a box and we'd like to use it, somehow.

Is there any way in hell I can use this winch? We don't have time to buy anything as it's 7pm on a thursday. we have access to a welder and tools.

Give me your crazy idea's that won't destroy his truck (no welding the winch to the bumper for example)

2002 Tacoma double cab is the vehicle in question.

I know this post is retarded but so are we and coastal off road (Maybe they'll see this post and give us more help than Daniel Cheng (The support guy) when he gave us the same manual we have access to and ignored the pictures of a clearly different bumper.)

Big wires. You didn't mention having any so kinda assumed you'd need them either way?

Bolt it to a plate with cables attached you can hook on the tow hooks. Right length cables you can also drop over a hitch ball in the rear but need looonger power feed.

Maybe go to the beach, rather than the mountains this weekend. Something done in desperation is rarely a good option.

How about staying out of trouble until you get the right bits?

Sometimes delayed gratification is a good thing.

Sorry the vendor messed up your plans.....

Very very bad idea to last minute jerry rig a winch. Lots to go wrong, and injury potential is great. Either go without it or don’t go.
