    Gotta 99 Tacoma w 77k mikes, yeah, she’s baby.
Bought her in Oregon from a dealership and knew it was a good deal so I took it out on a loan cuz I knew it was a good investment.

circumstances have changed , ill be going back to school and I cannot afford the car payment of 380$ a month plus insurance.

I owe about 4.5k left on my loan.

Considering I’m more likely to receive her proper value from a private seller - is it likely I’ll find someone willing to front me the money so I can pay the loan, receive the title, and sell it to them?

im looking for 12.5k considering the low mileage and it being well taken care of.
    It’s a stock 2D, reg cab 99 manual taco - pic attached.

Minimum wear and tear under the hood and on the body - most of it being inside (floor mats, beginning tearing of seat upholstery).

selling in NORTH EAST - CT, NY, MA area.

    Are my expectations reasonable?
Any suggestions are welcome, she’s my first car and I’m sad to see her go but I can’t afford the payments.

Just out of curiosity, how do you owe money on a 26-year old truck? Just seems implausible, unless you went to a title loan place...? My girlfriend and I just bought a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser with 95K miles, so we didn't have to share my truck and she didn't have to take Uber, and we paid $800 (It needed a tiny bit of work, and we know the owner); I just can't fathom taking out a loan to buy a vehicle more than 15 years old...

Your truck is worth just under $5,500 in good condition on Kelley Blue Book, but I think that KBB is highly inaccurate in valuing vehicles, especially Tacomas. I don't know if it's a base model or a higher trim (LX, SX, SR5...?) but if it has A/C and everything works, AND THE FRAME IS IN GOOD CONDITION, I'd say like $6,000-$7,000. The fact that it's manual is in your favor, but you say you live in New England, and rust is a huge problem up there. Even if you brought the truck from Oregon, a few years in New England will take their toll on the frame.

If it is a base model without intermittent wipers, then deduct $150-$200 from the price, because that's about how much it would cost me to buy a control stalk with variable-speed wipers and install it. If it's fully loaded and ZERO RUST, I could see someone paying you $10,000 for it (I personally would not, but that's just me, and I have two vehicles)

Does your truck have an aftermarket stereo system? How are the brakes, tires, fluids, etc...? I'm assuming it's never been wrecked and has a clean title.

Also, just a friendly reminder that you are not allowed to actually list vehicles for sale unless you have at least 50 posts, and you must post in the BST section. Disregarding this will result in a temporary ban.

    Great spoof.

I'd ask $87,000.00 dollars or rupees, whatever is offered first.

Put an ad on FB market place, craigslist and slap a for sale sign on it. Ask what you want than bargain from there. Time = money. The longer you wait and stick to your price the closer you will get to your number. If you need the cash now than you will probably get less. You will probably regret selling it in the long run.

3rz to 2Rz bebuilt block and new heads
If it was mine I'd bite the bullet, double down and pay it off
most anything newer cheaper is gonna let you down

however these are not problem free.....
if you cant work on it yourself......it may eat u alive
half of the new mechanics.....are crazed mad men

    You can try FB marketplace

but to get the big money for it you'd need someone like these guys
The best vintage and classic cars for sale online | Bring a Trailer

but they have to be really really pristine to get those top $
    not just low miles

I think penn silver is spot on.....
....if it were 4 x4 or pre-runner.....w/ 6 cyl you might get in the 10K to 12K range

but not for a base cab 2 rwd 5 lug....those are the bottom feeders

my 98 5 lug.....I gave 2K for it at 150K on FB......many many years ago

If you were near me down in south where there are plenty......I'd offer in the 6K ~7k...

a retiree with sentimental might double that west of rockies

seems ones with the chrome bumpers get the most

local sellers/dealers try to sell these for sky high......they might sit for awhile.....but they always eventually sell em

Buddy I work with bought 2001 base cab 2.7 with 110K on it for $8K...
everybody at work thought he was nuts....

He ended up selling because a newer F150 got way better gas mileage
.....and he didnt know how to work on it himself
little does he know that Triton engine will have major problems on down the line

Cant imagine what you're paying for full coverage.....and then they offer 10cents on the dollar if anything happens
    thats messed up

Picture looks like it was taken in Louisiana or Mississippi, or somewhere else on the Gulf Coast, and not in Oregon or the Northeast...?
