I just replaced the old plugs with Densos. I don't know how many miles the old ones had but I've put about 30,000 on the truck since I inherited it. Look how wide and worn the gaps are! I should have done this sooner but it just runs so well. I finally decided to just do it anyway.

They all match, so it's been done at least once before by the looks of it!

FWIW: They look similar/almost the same as the ones I removed from my truck last year. Service records found showed that they had been replaced and were in the the truck for approx. 115,000 miles when I changed them. See pic:

The heck of it is, when you change them, you'd hope you'd feel the truck running better but I'll bet you couldn't tell a difference.
    Still, yes, they needed changing.

True: no change noted in the engine character at all. I expected it to run a little smoother at idle and better pick-up, etc. from the 4.0L with new plugs, but there was no obvious difference noted. I didn't see any big gain in fuel mileage either. It was even more of a [nice] surprise discovering that in fact the plugs I swapped out had 115k on them. Perhaps better emissions? Dunno. But it did pass two yearly state emissions inspections with the old plugs. I believe the new plugs (DENSO) were about $6.00 each.

When I did my plugs after purchasing my tacoma, I was a little bummed to pull out a/c delco iridiums... :pout:. The gap was fine, but they are the lowest grade of plugs (IMO) and just felt bad for the vehicle. I put in denso copper plugs, fwiw.
