Those concrete saws scare the bejeebis outta me. You did a really nice job with that.

We're fixing to commence hydrazine loading of the Orion II capsule here in a few at the space center. Slow moving process. Oxidizer already loaded.

Good morning shop crew, I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying your weekend.

Take a moment and remember the ones that didn’t make it home tomorrow.

Any time I've ever ran one of those saws, I'm super achy the next day because every muscle in my upper body is clenched and locked out while it's running.

    Recap from yesterday.
    • Used the new jack and stands for the first time.
    • Rear driver's side tire would not come off. Persuaded with a mallet.
    • Oil filter housing got stuck to the wrench because I thought I had the slots lined up but clearly didn't.
    • Used the grease gun for the first time. Got that sucker COMPLETELY stuck on the zerk fitting. Twenty minutes, 3 YouTube videos and a forum thread later, I finally got the stupid thing off.
    • Decided to skip rotating the tires on the Escape since I need to hunt down a 19.5mm socket. 19 doesn't fit and 20 is a touch loose. so opted for just the oil change.
    • Had my kid out there so they could help work on their vehicle so everything took three times longer since I was explaining things to them as we went. But that's a good thing.
    • Finished the oil change, took it for a drive and parked it in the garage.
    • Cleaning up, realized we (I) forgot to put the cover back on under the engine. Decided that was a task for Sunday.
    • The decorative straps on my garage door are starting to rust so I took them off, labeled them, sprayed with two coats of primer and two coats of high temp black paint and left them to dry overnight. They'll get installed today.
    • After I came inside at 5:30, I realized that I hadn't eaten since 7:00.
My other kid is going to Itasca State Park today with 6 other people and didn't want to take 2 vehicles if they didn't have to so they he stole my wife's Highlander. Guess I better get his oil filter purchased and his oil changed today while he's out having fun.

Then I should be able to change the oil in the Highlander tomorrow...

Those chrome capped nuts are notorious for swelling in rust belt states. Even the ones on my 24 Taco are swelling o_O

Those didn't fit quite right, either. As @Delta09 mentioned, they've stolen just enough that I need a 19.5 socket.

Thank you. The saw is no bad, you just need to take your time and respect it.

Sounds like what you are doing is more dangerous to me.

I know this was a hard work and lengthy process; the pictures and beautiful end result give me a false impression that it’s a quick job

Could cut up a beer pop can. Use the aluminum to make slivers of shims as a 6 sided shim to create a 19.5 out of a 20mm socket. That would likely keep your kids attention.
