After getting my tire and valve stem to face the correct directions, I put a +2 sprocket on the rear. Definitely added a little pep and still able to cruise at 70 mph without feeling like it's going burst. Decided to take a tour of the back road on the "other side" of the mountain I'm on. Ended up detouring around a gate to check out the view. Never thought of power lines as "scenic" but they certainly allowed a very nice view!

Found this abandoned home a little to the right of the bike in the pic above...

    IMG_4340.jpg

Continued over the hill and it looks like I could keep going for quite a ways!

Any good places having a Memorial Day sale? Cycle gear sales are meh. Great if you’re looking for a helmet.

Got some normal non-adv boots finally. Gonna do single long ride with my pops goldwing and sneakers don't cut it.

    upload_2025-5-24_18-37-6.png

Bought a road helmet instead of my dual sport style. Cheap not- Ece but it will do for now. I'll upgrade later on.

The aries helmet I want is 1000$ Sucks that only 3 helmets fit my fat head in the store.

Wife wanted a destination if we went for a ride. Stopped in at Wapiti Outdoors for some ice cream down in Greenwater. About 110 miles round trip. Driven past a ton of times, first time we stopped.

She had a couple other firsts, too. First time riding at 60mph, and first time trying her cruise control (not at 60 and not for very long, lol)

Once I dropped down into Winthrop and Wenatchee, I got quite warm, but sought refuge at Tsillan Cellars fir a wine tasting before hitting the road again once the sun went behind the ridge. Def a ride I would do again.

    For anyone that has a CRF300, KLX230 or KLX300

You may want to check out this place. I was able to buy a rear hub for $105 shipped vs $199 from Partzilla. I've ordered from them before and had no issues.

Busy weekend of riding for me. 325 miles Saturday gathering points for both the GLMC and Team Strange grand tours. Temps Saturday never went above 62 went as low as 50 and I was in and out of rain much of the time. A few highlight pics:

    Milroy, PA

Poker Chip worth 2 points. Chip says State College but the mailing address is in Centre Hall, PA

Another 2 point poker chip only 1/2 mile away at the Harley dealership. I checked with the rally masters and they okay'd it. Only one bar or restaurant but if you can get lucky enough to find 2 different dealerships with poker chips they'll allow it.

Oddly this Harley shop was empty of new bikes, and had almost no staff around. Talked to the one woman working the register and learned that they'll be closing up soon if they can't find a buyer. Almost everything they do have in stock is 50% off including the poker chip I bought. What they lacked in new bikes they made up for in other bad ass stuff like these:

Blown 392 Hemi with a magneto? Holy shit!

Those are just the highlights! I could have spent a couple of hours just hanging out there. Owner wants to retire, he's 78, and he's having a hard time finding someone interested in buying the place. It was starting to rain so I knew if I didn't move on I wouldn't get as far as I hoped so it was time to gear up and head out.

Millheim, PA. According to the sign this place opened in 1794.

Lock Haven, PA for a Team Strange location.

And since Lock Haven starts with the letter L a GLMC point as well.

Mcelhattan, PA and I decided to sample the food this time. Restless Oaks, a big old log structure open for breakfast and lunch only. Food was good and staff very friendly.

One last stop in Williamsport, PA for a 1 point poker chip because I'd be riding right past it on the way home.

Today Dianne decided to go along in order to get some seat time before our upcoming NY trip. I went north on Saturday so Sunday we head south into MD.

Churchville, MD only 65 miles from home for the first stop.

Conowingo, MD and Sweeney's Pub. I was here a few years back when they had a sign on the door requiring a 2 tooth minimum. I think several locals barely made it.

Charlestown, MD and the Rivershack. Sits right on the Northeast River. We were going to eat here but the menu prices were a bit steep. Like our food budget for more than a whole week steep. Maybe some other time as it did look good.

    Chesapeake City, MD

    Landenberg, PA

Quick lunch break then some Team Strange points.

London and Britain were both Shakespeare locations, so this sign is worth double points.

    Lincoln appeared in Henry VIII

One final stop in Conestoga, PA for a GLMC location.

221 more miles for the weekend, By my count I've now visited 128 locations for GLMC and have 141 points. For Team Strange I've seen 39 locations worth 109 points.

Well shit , went out for a ride on the GSXR 750 for about 2 hours. It wasn’t that much fun. I have been riding the Klx, Harley and monkey a lot more. They are a lot more comfortable to ride. Yes the GSXR is fast BUT I can take corners just as fast on the Klx and be comfortable doing it. So what am I getting at? Well I think I am going to sell it. I was pretty sore when I got home. The back of my neck, elbows , knees and my ass were all sore. I jumped on the Klx and rode that for about 2 hours and had way more fun. Can’t wait to get the SM swap done because it will be pretty awesome after that.
Nice spot I have to stop and take a pic. Another beautiful day in the NW
