I don't love the Prinsu roof rack, what alternatives are there?

Hey AncaGrind - regarding your Yakima Skyline / Jetstream bars. Still like them? I need something for the 3 times a year where I need extra storage for camping. The Prinsu seem well made and I like the fact they are all metal and screw to all 10 mounting locations. Permanent wind noise and reduction in MPG for something I only need a few times a year doesn’t make sense. Wanted your thoughts on if you still like your Yakima setup - has it held up, etc. Any issues that each landing pad only uses one mounting hole, or the use of any plastic in the skyline tower?

I have nothing but good things to say about this rack. It fits my use case perfectly, is very well built, and has held up exceptionally well! I usually have it on around town or if I'm heading out for a kayak trip. If I'm taking a road trip with no kayak, it comes off. That was my big reason for steering away from the prinsu rack as well, once it's up there you're stuck with it. I was a little leary of the single bolt per landing pad as well, but once the rack is on and everything is torqued, it's quite solid. Every spring when the rack goes back on the truck, I give each Landing pad a good tug to make sure it's still solid. I've only had to tighten one pad one time.
