Well just got around to installing the STILLEN CAI, and off-road exhaust. The good- Everything for like a glove. CAI sounds really good, as well as the exhaust. Now onto the issue. After install drove around for about an hour, after a few full throttle pulls started getting a check engine light. Start drive malfunction along with a secondary collision brake system malfunction. Finally made it back home after reduced engine power, plug in my ezlink for my diesel and pulled a MAF sensor dtc. After clearing and doing a battery reset everything cleared and hasn’t came back as of yet. Anyone else let had these issues with this install?

Seen lots of Facebook post about the maf code after installing a aftermarket CAI. Some go back to the factory CAI.

I’m going to try it for a few days and if it keeps coming back I will as well.

The OEM Pro/Trailhunter intake gives MAF errors on lower trims. It's possible the Stillen intake is causing a similar problem. You can probably get a tune to fix it.

As stated by JustDSM's post, the lower-trim hybrids also have different MAF calibrations than the Pro/Trailhunter; this is due to hardware differences in the intake.

I got a CEL after installing K&N intake after a few full ups. Cleared it and it’s hasn’t came back.

Ain’t no way I’m putting back on the OEM filter.. Sounds way better with aftermarket intake

This reminds me of back in the early 2,000 all the mustang crew installing the K&N air filter comes and wonder why it’s throwing a code. your MAF sensors are freaking out :)

Hey everyone! Wanted to keep you guys in the loop with some updates that might help clarify what a few of you have been seeing.

First, thank you to Stillen for generously sending over one of their intake systems for testing and evaluation. It’s always appreciated when a company is willing to collaborate and engage directly with the enthusiast community.

We’ve seen some recent reports here of CELs popping up after installing this intake. These kinds of issues can happen when a system slightly alters the MAF housing in a way that the stock ECU calibration can’t properly account for, and it's not always apparent to the end user.

The good news is: we’ve developed a calibration solution specifically tailored for this intake that resolves the CEL and ensures proper fueling and performance. After testing the system in-house, we've been able to correct the MAF scaling and validate the calibration under a variety of conditions.

To be clear, this isn't a knock on the intake itself—build quality and fitment are solid. The CELs are just a side effect of what happens when you push airflow design changes beyond what the factory calibration can interpret.

If you're running this intake and have experienced a CEL, or are considering it and want peace of mind, feel free to reach out. Our updated calibration is ready to go and will integrate seamlessly with our existing tune packages.

Did you guys do any dyno testing with the Stillen intake and your Stage 1 tune?
