The TRD OR is going to be a nice truck with you doing the work I would put it back to pristine condition.

Take lots of pictures and keep us updated.

I would think no, but you will have to check their circuits to make sure they are operational and there are no codes

Does anyone know if I 100% need to replace the clockspring if the airbag blows? I heard the connecters melt and thats why people replace the entire clock spring. Wondering If I should just replace the wiring and leave the clock spring alone or just replace it all.

You will need to inspect yours. 99% chance the plugs are shot but nobody can tell you until you look at it. You can fo a step farther and check continuity through the wires or power on the truck and see if the steering wheel controls work. That will help you too!

@airforceb2cc I will remove it later this week and give it another look. I can verify that blinkers, lights and horn all work. I haven't messed with the sound or cruise control but I'm assuming since the others worked its fine. I haven't drove it too much besides driving it into my garage. Is there a rubbing noise when you turn it?

There is a chance it is still good. You can pop the airbag off and see it very easily. That will tell you right away if the plugs are good or not. The rubbing is most likely the air bag cover or the guts of the bag rubbing on the column fairing.

Update: Dash has been replaced. Seats have also been replaced just haven’t not put them in yet. Ran into some issues with the clock spring I got. Junkyard gave me the entire steering column to a Tacoma, when I removed the steering wheel the clock spring came out with it and unspooled the wiring inside it…

I started doing some of the body work. Gaps are lining up great. Waiting on the bumper and new fender.

When I replaced curtain airbags and dropped liner I ended up soundproofing/ using some insulation -2 layers kilmat and noico red. I also did it underneath the carpet. Deciding whether I wanna do doors as well.

Did you paint the body parts before you assembled them? It’s looking good and hasn’t taken you long either.

@t0p_d0g i ended up ordering OEM parts from junkyards paint matched.
One issue I have is the bumper is from a 2020 Tacoma (year older) and the shade is slightly different. Not sure if it’s from just sun hitting it or what. Wondering if I want to have a guy just blend it in.
Tell me how bad it is

I mean it’s noticeable but it’s not that bad. I guess it just depends on how far you want to go with it.
