Nerf bar 3” Stainless Steel Tube Step for Tacoma Extended Cab

Hey friends (and fellow Tacoma enthusiasts),

I’ve got a 1999 Tacoma Extended Cab 4WD, and I’m on the hunt for a specific set of nerf bars that were offered as an OEM accessory back in the day:

• PT212-35051 (or something close) – the 3” polished stainless steel tube steps made for the Extended Cab models.

I’ve been searching high and low, but so far, I’ve only found black versions. The polished stainless OEM ones seem to have vanished! I’ve attached a photo from my original Tacoma to show exactly what I’m after.


If anyone out there has a lead—or maybe even a set sitting in a garage—I’d be beyond grateful. This old truck (and its owner) would be thrilled to shine again!

Can't help but, just wanted to say...RAD truck. Welcome.

 

Mine say WESTIN on them and they are original, it's a doublecab but I think they made them for extended cab also. But could be a dealer specific installed item related to Gulf states Toyota dealers for the ones on my truck a 2001, not sure. You can see them in my avatar.

 

Thanks! Yeah the one’s that were on the one in my profile are Westin. Toyota used Westin and others. I’ve reach out to Westin they do not offer the polished-stainless steel. They have black which i can find all day long.

 

Are these what you’re looking for? I never heard of stainless steel nerf bars that came with first gen. Tacomas but these chrome ones were on my 04 Xtra cab.

Were those OEM. That is one beautiful truck! Do you still have it. Mine were shorter as can see on my previous photos.

 

Smittybuilt used to make 3" Stainless Nerf Bars that I had to drill into the frame to mount on my 1998 X-tra Cab Limited Tacoma.

I sold the 1998 9 years ago, however, when I got a double cab 2016 to help carry my baby around.

 

I found an old picture of it.

 

I believe they are, looked to be factory mounted when I removed them, I think they came with the SR5 chrome package for that year. Thanks, that pic is from when I first got her a year and a half ago, previous 2 owners took good care but I’ve changed her look a bit(check my profile pic). I did notice yours were shorter after I posted but didn’t realize mine are probably stainless steel also.

 

I wonder if the ones on mine were for a single cab
