I’m having an issue with my 2010 Tacoma TRD Off-Road. The brakes feel weak and the pedal goes about 3/4 of the way down before I start to feel any braking. It also seems like the ABS is no longer functioning, although the ABS warning light isn’t on and the bulb isn’t burnt out.

I took it to my mechanic, who said the ABS brake module needs to be replaced. The part alone is over $8,000 (I’m in Canada). The part number I was given is 47050-04052 or 47210L (Brake Master Cylinder).

They said they’ve already bled the air from the brake lines.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Do you hear the pump come on to charge up the accumulator when you turn the key on? It also should run for a bit every few times you pump the brake.
