Hey, thanks! I’m embarrassed to say that I’ve referenced Tacoma World for years but have never contributed. I joined today because I have learned a thing or two while leveraging the guidance from this forum. I felt like the Honda 85W find might help some folks on here.

I cannot for the life of me understand why most if not all are not offering their gear type oils in these squeeze type bags. (I'm looking at you Motul and High Perf. Lubes)

Brand is a personal choice - this is what Toyota strongly recommends using in the GL world - GL5 in diff's - excelent, GL4 for Transfer Case and Manual Transmission - I re-geared my Taco and use a heavier differential oil but it still is a GL5 grade. If you really want to know why the difference Google GL5 vs GL4 - the GL5 can do damage to soft metals in the transfer and transmission over time.

I just changed my transfer case oil at 81k for the first time. Used Redline LV-MT which is GL4 and was $23/qt as opposed to the Toyota fluid at closer to $100/qt. Job took a little more than 1 qt, glad I went with Redline and will change it at every 30k to 40k going forward.
