Hello TW family, I need some help getting my frame replaced by Toyota. Hope you guys can steer me in the right direction:

I have a 2012 Base model with 77k miles on it and I believe it was one of the trucks that they will replace the frame due to a recall. What do I need to present to them in order to get my frame replaced free of cost? How can I verify the recall?

I just bought the truck so it might take a while for the recall to come via mail.

    thanks,

12 years from the date the truck was put in service was the expiration.

Toyota knows what that date was if you don't.

My bet is you expired last year.

PS, it was never a recall. It was an extended warranty for vehicles registered in specific areas (salt country).

IF the frame is in need of replacement, it's a shame you didn't know that before your purchase.

You’d have very limited time to get the ball rolling if say your truck was made later in 2013 as a 2012 MY. Otherwise they will deny it 100%.

    how bad is your frame?

Even if you still qualify by time, if there isn’t a literal hole in the frame you won’t get a replacement.

It isn't a recall. They won't touch it until it has a qualifying hole rotted in the frame. Inspect it and get it protected asap to prevent the rot.

So…you want your frame replaced even if there’s nothing wrong with it? You serious?

Call the dealer and have someone in service run your VIN. They can tell you if it's expired on not.
