Flip keys, changing as much back to OEM (lights, bumper, panels, chassis), and buying all the missing pieces taken from the dealer before selling me this truck.
I went in for an oil change and was recommended brake fluid coolant and 4 x 4 service. When receiving the 2011 Tacoma 4 x 4 the brake pedal went to the floor and I had zero response. The shop had to keep it overnight because they said air was in the system. When I had to get my insurance card for the rental, I noticed no computer being used while there was brake fluid container over the master cylinder and hoses to each bleeder screw. The next day I picked up the truck within 25 miles I got the VSC symbol and check engine. Using text stream these are the errors that came up, which they say has nothing to do with what they did that day. Does anybody know if weird codes would pop up from the first brake fluid replacement fail?

They probably damaged the harness back by the rear axle. Crawl under and look

Sounds like a total Friday job

Make sure battery terminals are tight. No other good reason to get circuit codes on both rear wheel speed sensors and lose comm with the steering angle sensor (which is mounted on the back of the clock spring).

I called when the symbols appeared, and they’re just denying it has anything to do with them. Westside Toyota says they’ll have to diagnose at my expense. I wrote to Toyota and the dealership info doesn’t complete. I chose another dealer just to send the complaint with the right dealership in the text box. Hopefully Toyota or the other dealer gets the message and corrects the mismatch.

Wow! This just gets better and better. Sounds like the dealership from hell. You might think about taking your truck to a different dealership. Keep all documentation and take notes. You may end up needing for small claims. I've been down this road before. Good luck

Shouldn't even have gone home. Turn around and right back to the dealership. Well too late for that now.
Let us know what they say. It should be interesting to say the least.

    Best of luck to you!

I would def make a complaint to Toyota North America Corp office.

One was clean, the other was oily and dirty. Could be the placement (one on the rear, the other side is on the front), but it’s got a greasy feel mixed with debris. Noticed there’s brake fluid all over my tires, now that the rain is gone and everything drying up.

Take it back, have them fix it. Also ask them to clean up the mess. Brake fluid is very corrosive if left unattended. That’s what I’d do/have done. Dealer once left my steering fluid reservoir open. Didn’t notice until the following week after I had gone to the beach. I drove it back to them and pointed at the mess they left. They flushed it and cleaned up the spill free of charge (as they should).

    Youre complicating matters...
First youre allowing them to feed you a line without looking at the truck & already not taking responsibility...
    The issue wasnt there prior...

taking it to another dealer youre complicating matters big time, youre still going to be on the hook for diagnosis...

Also toyota isnt going to pay dealer B for something dealer A screwed-up during a customer pay service...
Its dealer A's responsibility to fix the vehicle free of charge if they messed up.
Not toyota responsibility to make it right, & ide put money on it that they dont when the 2 dealers are in close proximity.....

I mean the harness may have been stretched or pulled, damaging the wires inside. Grease on the outside doesn't mean anything

Just take it back, its their fuckup

That seems like a connector or wiring issue.

Nothing like the dealerships recommending work you never asked for and then fucking it up. Even if the only issue was it took two more hours to complete than their original estimate.

How do they ever expect you or another customer in your situation to ever agree to an unsolicited repair ever again.

The Toyota dealerships I see are always busy there's no surprise they can't get shit right.

I see a ton of rust under there. Were the bleeders seized shut?

How many miles on your truck? I'm thinking the lights coming on don't match usage of truck, in other words, these codes shouldn't appear until the truck is old and abused, like 225k miles.

The techs were able to bleed it. They didn’t say anything about replacing them. If I wasnt living in an Extended Stay while looking for a house, I’d jump on the rusting issue. I’m in a bad situation for servicing my truck in the parking lot while my tools are in another state.
