    Hi all,
I’m a brand new (to me) Tacoma owner (about one month, 2012 TRD Sport). I had a recent low back injury and now I loathe driving my truck as the seat is so uncomfortable. It really wasn’t a big issue prior to my injury- I drove the truck 1.5 hours home from the point of purchase without a problem. I’m talking within five minutes I want to hurl myself out of the truck. For reference, I am tall at 6’4”, 220lbs. The seat is pretty small for me- short in the torso and the leg support.

Does anyone have some temporary or permanent solutions to the seat problem? Back pads would seem to simply push me even closer to the edge of the seat.

I’m open to aftermarket seats that fit my body. It doesn’t appear that I’m in an area where selling and installing aftermarket seats is common as I haven’t found anything online (south central Wisconsin, US). So I haven’t found a shop with models for me to try.
I have seen posts about super pricey Scheel Mann seats and I would do that if I could afford it.
    Thanks for any insight.

Start with the seat jackets from Desert Does It. I’ve a hand a bilateral si fusion and they helped tremendously. Also had seat heaters installed and they never get turned off.

Thanks for this. I’ve seen these and have wondered how it’s possible they can help! But clearly they do. I will have to try it out. Thank you

+2 for Seat Jackers under the front, my back used to hurt after long trips I put those under the front and it's much better.

My 2013 5-lug has manual lower back adjustment on drivers side. It does help me with a lower degenerative disc issue.

Biggest improvement I made was swapping seat upholstery with Katzkin leathers. Made a world of difference in support.

Thanks for this. I’ll have to give it a try. My concern is even short trips are killing me!

fascinating that just a new fabric could make a difference! Unless there’s something else added during the process?

If you think raising the back will help that's easy, you just need some spacers/washers and longer bolts.

The front takes special adapters to raise so Seat Jackers there.

I prefer the front higher than the back but some people like the back higher than/even with the front.

It's easy enough to unbolt the seat, space it up temporarily with something, sit in it, try different combinations, and see what you like then order what you need to make it permanent.

Raising the front of the seat made it much more comfortable for me

Order both the front and rear use the ones that suit you best and return the ones not used. DDI return set up is easy. Personally I find with the added support under the thighs by raising the front it takes a lot of pressure off the low back. I’m telling when I put them in and took the first drive I was like why did i wait so long.
