My rear brakes on my ‘14 4x4 DBCSB TRD OR started making grinding noise @ 200,000+ miles. Mostly highway miles and nearly zero off-roading. Shoes were completely gone.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I think you got your moneys worth out of them.

It took a minute. The last time i changed rear shoes was in ‘95 on a ‘91 Chevy s10 @ 90k only to find out it was the fronts that were grinding. Not sure why waiting so long. I guess I thought they would last forever - lol

I should prolly check mine. 385k. I've never changed 'em and I don't remember ever asking for the service.

what kind of noise did they make? sometimes when stopping i hear a slight rotational clunckish noise......mine have 205K and have never been opened so i was suspecting that might be the case.

How many front pads have you gone through? I think im on my third set

IMO grinding isn't the preferable indicator that the brakes are shot ;)

I prefer proaction over reaction when it comes to routine wear items, esp brakes, far less drama and usually less expensive.

Do you plan on getting the inside of the drum turned or just buying a new one?

I just did mine this weekend. At 178K miles, I still had 2/3 of the shoe left. I wonder if your parking brake wasn't adjusted correctly or had been engaged and driven at some point.
