I just did the front end conversion! Used all oem parts. Came out good but I'm waiting for that final grill surround part from Toyota its in Kentucky right now and they are finally gonna ship it soon. Going on a trip soon and I'm hoping to have the truck painted the same silver streak mica. My favorite thing is the alpharex doubletap fogs being able to choose a different color.IMG_2119 (1).jpg IMG_2123 (1).jpg

Nice! I really like it how do you like it so far. My Sony is starting to just get worse carplay crashes while on calls and when you take a call it just locks up and is basically unusable. My friend with a Tundra has a pioneer one close to yours. I am curious how you like it so far because i'm thinking of making the switch.

I did some research and got to see it in a demo cabinet. They let me test it with my phone and their sound setup. I have absolutely no regrets, the interface is fast and it connects wireless to my phone as soon as I start the truck. Most stereo shops have a demo display, just tell them you want to test it out. Good luck with your truck.

Sounds good thanks. I completely forgot I have a soundshop nearby me and I will take a trip down there to see if I can test it out thanks for the idea.

Since I decided to mount my Iceco fridge on a platform where the passenger side rear seat used to be, the storage area under it would be obviously inaccessible. I decided to change that today by cutting out the end of it along with removing the 2 brackets that held the factory jack. I'll be lining the whole thing with a thin layer of rubber. I do need to fix one spot where I accidentally cut all the way through the floor while cutting out one of the spot welds. I can easily fix this with a small patch. I still haven't decided what I will be storing in there, but one possibility is swapping my tool bag for a tool roll or 2 and putting them there. I also plan on cutting up the plastic factory storage bin so that I can still use it on the drivers side. I also don't like the idea of the fridge just sitting back there on a piece of plywood, so I started on making 2 supports for the plywood. i used some scrap 1/8" plate to make the first mounts using the seatbelt bolts and 1 in the corner of the storage cubby. And yes, theyll both be trimmed up some. I bought some 2" angle iron to make the front mounts, which will bolt in where the factory rear seat mounts did. I also picked up some 1 1/4 x 1 1/4 tube to connect the mounting plates. The plywood will then bolt to this. Hoping to get most of that done tomorrow. No turning back now.

Does that unit tie in to the existing microphone or does it have an external one you installed?

While doing an oil change and greasing the drive shaft I noticed a bit of grease that has come out of the u joints since the last service. Is this because of too much grease or are the joints needing to be replaced soon?20250601_112828.jpg 20250601_112818.jpg

It has its own mic. Can't see the cord, runs up inside the piller cover and is mounted in the top left corner. Small, but works great. Hope that helps. Good luck with your truck.

I installed tube doors from 4x Innovations. Still waiting on the rear tube doors to arrive. For rock crawling being able to lean out of the truck and see where you're going front and back is a game changer.

Welp fixed the driver's side steering boot again. Apparently they didn't pull the zip tie tight enough. No tears or anything.

I think it's probably from extra grease that was pushed out. If you don't wipe them down very clean it's common for rotating parts to throw grease. My drivetrain is fine and young and throws a bit of grease after service.

I have no idea if that's a symptom of a problem with the joints.

Thanks, I'll have to try to clean them a bit better after greasing.

I just drag a shop cloth across the general area of the zerk and joint once or twice and call it good. It's not really worth trying too hard unless you need it very clean to try and locate an oil leak or something. Whatever is left gets blasted with soapy water when I clean the underside. It's not hurting anything under there.
