Lot of 5G there. An eye sore for the great old building and cool truck.

 

I cant believe they havent torn that building down. Even my old high school in Maryland is long gone

 

Threw in some cheap Amazon LED fog light bulbs just to gain some brightness

They’re now as bright or brighter than the headlights:

had to put a roof on my brother’s house this weekend or there would have been a lot more done.

 

Oh yeah that sounds like a time consuming project!

 

Morning all. Do you have any recommendations for reputable body shops/mechanics? I can do a lot of work myself but not so great at diagnostics or paint/dent repair. Don't mind a hike if the shop is good.

 

I have arrived

 

I need to swap the entire assembled rear end from the blue truck to the red truck so i dont have to disturb anything but the leaf spring bolts and brake lines. I have new stainless braided brake lines for the red truck front and rear.

The red truck gets the hubs, dust shields, calipers, coilovers, and UCAs swapped over from the blue truck. I also have new sway bar bushings and the sway bar relocate kit to go on.

I may also need to play around with axle shims and the carrier bearing spacer to see if I can ward off the take off shudder I used to have with the blue truck. So that may require me to get another set of ubolts at some point. Basically i’m going to build the red truck exactly like the blue truck was and then fix the little things.

I also need to get a hold of @SMKYTXN to get new hardware for my gas tank skid to swap it from the blue truck to the red truck.

I need to pull my Mobtown front skid, put it in the press and see if i can bend it back into useable shape, the trans skid is still mint.

I need to buy new front bump stops, going to try to see if they can come off the blue truck and be reused first.

I have to swap on my redline tuning hood struts.

I have to swap in my pioneer head unit with all new wiring. Switch the back up camera from the blue truck to a front camera on the red truck.

I may also swap the hitch from the blue truck to the red truck because its less rusty. Depends on whether i can clean up the one on the red truck or not….

Looking for paint touchup/paintless dent repair/ detailing.

I've just acquired some pretty nasty paint chips on my hood down to bare metal and freak dent in my passenger door that's making the window rub on the door panel. Trying to spec out if it's cheaper to get the paint repaired or just find a used hood.

 

search “dent wizard paintless dent repair” best money i ever spent on my last truck. Now i’ll need him again. He is from somewhere in middle PA

Oh they come out to you? If I can't find something local-ish I'll reach out. Figured I'd ask since you were building a new truck and your last one looked so clean. I know that doesn't happen by accident so you must know someone or be a pro yourself ha.

 

At one point in time, the passenger side bed side of my blue truck got totaled by my log splitter backing it up a driveway. PDR guy was an absolute wizard and handled it like a champ.

 

Things like that, without any creases can be popped out with a toilet plunger and some soapy water.

Side note, Dawn dish soap removes wax, so make sure to rewax the area.
