Left my truck sitting for a couple months outside the house. Engaged the closed vent feature but a mouse found its way in. Smells horrible, turn the vents on, can hear the nest blowing around. I need to clean the entire vent system. Any known articles or videos that can help me navigate this mess? Already inspected the vent behind the glove box and a probing camera into the others. I'm thinking its either in the blower or the windshield vents. I feel like Im due for a dashboard break down since the speedometer lights are going out but would love to avoid it!

My inhabitant's nest was in the fan (see photo). Many others, if I recall on the 3rd gen 4runner forums, state similar experience with the fan as the preferred location.

Here is a link that highlights evap cleaning but also shows how to remove the fan. Would be a good time to just give your system a nice refresh.

Mine was exactly the same. The fan is easy to remove. If they get into the chamber just left of it, that takes a little more work.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
I've been very lucky to only find leaves and twigs in there I guess.

Spot on gentlemen! Sadly it made its way to the left and there is a fair amount of shit and piss...will try to clean it up but maybe go through insurance to buy new components.

Am I able to drop the bottom half of the enclosure without messing with the guts of the system? I know theres a drain at the backside but have no know idea what kind of fasteners exist on the back side
