I have 23 Off road crew cab, I am planning to to put Window vent shades on, I was told the ones that go in the window channels, cause issues with power windows, not shutting correctly. I was advised to use the tape on kind. Any suggestions / recommendations Thank you in advance for any input.

My advice is 180* from that.

Weather tech in channels have worked great in 3 different vehicles

That is not correct. I had them on a 2017, 2018 and now on a 2023. All in channel and worked without issue.

I have the in-channel from WeatherTech on my ‘17 since the truck was new. Excellent quality, zero issues. Made in Germany.

Like the others have stated. I have in channel in my Tacoma and Tundra and zero issues with the power windows.

In channel AVS since 2017. Never had an issue with the auto window feature.

Mine (AVS) initially caused a brief issue when the edge of the glass hit the corner of the Ventshade (caused the window to reverse slightly, then stop), but five seconds with a Dremel to chamfer the edge of the shade so the glass could glide past easier fully took care of that (a file (even nail file), sandpaper, etc. will work too). I suspect that as time went on and the shade "settled" into place further, the issue would've resolved on it's own anyway.

But definitely go in-channel. The stick-on ones are just plain hideous.

AVS- just be careful as you will lose even more of your side visibility around the A pillars. But they are awesome to use when it’s raining or hot out.

my dad LOVES the stick-on versions. i have a very love/hate relationship with the in-channel ones.

stick-on are slightly easier to install. clean the painted surface, pull the backer, stick on.

in-channel requires methodical cleaning. your truck is a '23, so hopefully not too bad, but it depends on where it might have been used before and how well-kept the truck generally was.

my parents 1996 ranger used in-channel, they were installed in 2004, and never stuck right. the amount of grime in the channel was insane, and just gunked up the adhesive.

my 2002 ranger that i got in 2017, i didn't have much problems. and also not many problems on my tacoma.

something i absolutely love about the in-channel visors is that they allow the window to be opened further than the stock-on versions. i like having my windows open, even in the rain. this allows better air flow.

but something i don't like is that the section of window that goes up against the visor when fully closed WILL get scratched to hell.

AVS In-Channel Low Profile. If you're careful with the install, there's no issue with the windows rolling up. Been on for close to 3 years and no issue.

I have both, the in channel & the tape on. The tape on version will damage ur paint after 3-5 years. It happen to my 2007. Also, after every few years you need to replace the tape because it start to loose its stickiness.

For my 2021, I used the in channel. This causes your window to have issue the first few weeks but ater a while it will be fine. Another issue with the in channel is, you will loose 50% of visibility on the driver side A pillar. I might remove the front for this reason.

Overall, I prefer the in channel because it won’t damage your paint.

In-channels all the way! They don't fuck up window operations in the least. The stick on style looks horrible.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
I think the following responses say it best:
I got mine from WeatherTech as well - installed the day I brought my '21 Taco home.
Going on 4 years and zero issues.
I dislike ANYTHING that adheres to my Taco's paint.

Most vehicles you see on the road with glue on ones always have at least 1 or 2 broken pieces, or missing all together. They break soooo much easier then in-channel visors.

    Fools advice!
