Has anyone sold their vehicle to Carvana (et al) with a canopy and all exterior accessories?

Did they give you more for the accessories or was it not applicable?

Sell the accessories. Dealers won't give you anything extra for it

they are not going to even give you what they provide in the estimate - they take fees (read their fine print) and find every other way to reduce what they initially state. I ended up going with FB Market place and got the full price the Stealer/Carvan/webuy/.... would have asked for it on their lot. Gained several thousand over the B'fn they offer.

It's just gonna be a ton of heartache going through tire kickers. I busted up my shoulder in Judo so taking all the stuff of my truck is gonna be brutal.

Really comes down to how badly you need the $. Cars aren’t an investment. How much is your time worth to you? How much is the convenience of not having to meet up with strangers and get lowballed for used accessories worth?

In that case also get a buy out quote from CarMax too. If you might be trading in at a Toyota dealer show them both quotes might give you some trade in leverage.

My experience with Carvana was good to go man. They showed up with a flatbed wrecker and a check for what we had agreed on

2013: Traded a nice '08 BMW 328xi coupe, MT (Less common spec) on a new VW TDI. CarMax gave me ~20% more than VW offered. Cashiers check in hand, very easy process; less than 2 hours (Would have been much faster had it not been a busy Saturday afternoon). Seems like they really wanted unmodified stock and focused heavily on model year and mileage.

2020: Sold a Grand Cherokee for my kid with AutoTrader What a royal PITA; Took about 2 months, at least 10 no-shows, a couple stupid high pressure offers made sight unseen (were talking $2k for a truck I wanted $7k for), several really lame Nigerian scammers and one more advanced one.

BLUF: Shop around, Car Max is easy, Private sale (Autotrader or similar) is painful.

When I sold my Canyon The dealer offered 24k with my canopy. I checked on Carvana and they offered 28k without the canopy that I sold for $1500. They showed up with a flatbed and check in hand. Super easy and hassle free.

Carvana puts most aftermarket, removable, accessories in the dumpster at their refurb centers.

    Itz JDM tyte, yo!
This. You might even make more money selling the aftermarket parts separate and putting the stock parts back on (if you still have them).

Plastidipped badges, TRD Pro grille, Fog light vinyl overlays, raptor lights, and predator steps are gonna be my best guess:popcorn:

We should use this well known truth to throw back at dealerships and refuse to pay for the insulting markups on unwanted BS port add-ons. Go ahead and leave it on there, but I won’t give you one extra cent for it. Two way street.

I actually got a tiny bit out of the dealer back in 2020. They took $500 off when I refused to pay for those awful looking predator steps
