I don't get the big gaps in the front (and rear) wheel wells.

Being in New England, the water, snow, ice and various other crap is going to invade the engine compartment.

Do you think this was designed to assist in cooling the turbo/engine compartment? If yes, will installing splash guards increase temps in the summer heat?

Not a part or features that accommodates bigger tires. I'm referring to the gap leading into the engine well, horizontally from the inner wheel side to the engine block

I feel like Toyota has left ample room for suspension modification and upper arm suspension travel space.

ARK has some splash guards with more coverage in the front. I think rough county has some for the back. I’m not sure exactly why they are so darn open but I’m sure it’s because either some engineer is smarter than me or it was cheaper to do so

Someone on Youtube covered the opened area with felt. Let me see if I can search it.

I’ve got the Arks on mine and there still is some intrusion, upstate NY road salt is not friends with aluminum or electronics. Can’t imagine how it would be without aftermarket splash guards. Also as previously discussed early production 4 th gens are not the same on the rear wheel wells so the rough countrys won’t work there, sadly.

Yeah I misspoke. I think it’s actually husky that makes them (the rears)

I looked Husky and it doesn’t look like they have them for the 2024s yet. I may be overlooking something though.

I too am looking for a kit that will help keep wheel well debris out of the engine bay. I too saw where someone on YT made some pieces that resolved this but I cannot find the video.

Possibly cooling impact - why I'm waiting to close up the front. Guess someone is gonna need to be the first in the pool and do some testing.

Thanks for posting. I saw that video, but looks like he lives somewhere with winter. I'm in FL. Probably different cooling considerations.

Yeah that is the whole point. You don’t want rain, snow, slush, and ultimately salt in your engine.
