I just had a heck of a time getting the spare dropped on my 2006 Prerunner. Essentially there was a lock on it, which the standard lock key did not fit. I ended up jimmying out the peg at the base of the lock to get it off, then re-inserted the peg into the hole so this tool bit can fit in to rotate the lever, fitting right over and catching the peg at the sides.

They had this tool at Discount Tire to do that, but I only got the picture and not what it is. It's on a long bar about 4-feet long and has the handle on the end for easy turning. Reverse image searching is getting me nowhere. Any insight? Thanks in advance.

Your words describe the tool that's under my rear seat with the jack. It doubles as the jack handle.

Your pic shows something slightly different, probably a universal tool for various marquees

When you really hate under bed spares… having to fight those things out from under there in a stressful situation on the side of the road sucks…glad you were able to get it.
