Long story short…..I was interested in installing the new Protect X Alarm Sensor being sold on Amazon. I e-mailed the company with several questions. Turns out they were going to be in my home town so they offered to come by and show me all the sensor features and how it upgrades the alarm.

In summary….this sensor is awesome! Super simple to install....took me less than ten minutes with a Philips screwdriver and I am not super handy. Anyone can do it!

My Tacoma Pro now has a shock sensor for window breakage, vibration sensor to prevent catalytic converter theft, tilt sensor to prevent theft of wheels and theft of truck, glass breakage sensor and ability to open/close the windows with the OEM remote.

The sensor actually works like advertised and in the videos you can see on You Tube and Amazon. I can strike any window and the alarm sets off three beeps of the horn as a warning. A hard strike sets of the entire OEM alarm system including horn and lights. I put a jack under my truck and the alarm went off as soon as the tires left the ground.

I am not connected to the company in anyway or receiving any type of gratuity for this post. I just want to share my experience with fellow Tacoma owners as vehicle theft and catalytic converter theft is rampant in the metro-Phoenix area.

I am very impressed! Highly recommend!

Thank you for the recommendation. I wanted to amp up security, but not lose keyless entry. This thing is awesome! I did what you did to test, strike the window, jack the front end up, I even rocked the truck, and it all works.

Super simple install as well, follow the pictures simple.

    Awesome product.

I have a question. Can you override the alarm for service or a valet parking?

    Thanks.

It doesn’t have an override function. It, more or less, makes your stock alarm perform like it is on steroids.

I have had mine installed for several months now. No false alarms or other issues so far!

Oh, one other thing it does….you can remotely roll all windows up and down and put them in any position.

Do you have photos of the install. I like to see which connectors you used?
