Ive got a 2002 taco with the 2.7l and auto trans and im done with the teeny amount of power it makes so i want to know what all goes into swapping the 3.4 in with a manual trans and i know these engines arent the most powerful v6s of all time but its better than topping out at 75mph in a flat straight line plus i need the extra power and weight for the overland build the 2.7 will struggle with the rooftop tent and the armor.

Not really feasible unless you have a complete donor truck that you can rob all of the required parts from, not as simple as just dropping in the engine and trans.

That doesn't seem like a swap worth the time, effort or money. I would turbo the 2.7 before I swapped a 3.4 in.

And if the donor OP's truck is 4x4, the spline count for the input gears are different from I4 to V6.

    Can't comment on driveshaft differences.

Hummmm a 1uz only weighs 30lbs more than the 3RZ, has 100 more HP, the 3.4 weighs 100lbs more than the 1uz and only has 40 more HP than the 3RZ…..just math. Never done a 2.7 to 3.4 swap but have done 2.7 to 4.0 JMO but i think the 1uz swap would be easier, lots of aftermarket support for it. Turbo would be cheaper if you trust the 23 year old cylinder head with high miles, but bigger payback.
