Took the truck to a mechanic this weekend to replace brakes and they told me I also had an exhaust leak.

Anyone know a good way to diagnose and repair this myself?

I made a contraption out of pvc and a rubber flex coupling and screwed an air fitting in to it
Tighten to exhaust, run a little bit of air, don’t need much and listen and then follow with soapy water. Should be easy to find

A cheap mechanics stethoscope from harbor freight or Amazon & just use the hose attachment & listen to the entire exhaust..
    till you find it...
if you live in a snowy state & youre not skilled at doing rusty exhaust work, you can easily make matters worse fast,
    broken bolts......
exhaust manifolds is where ide start listening...
y-pipe to bottom of manifold, etc....

When the exhaust is cold, hook up a shop vac to the tail pipe, and blow air into the tail pipe. You may need to tape hose to pipe. Get a spray bottle with water and a bit of dish soap. Spray the water /soap mixture on the exhaust system.... where you see bubbles being made, air is leaking.

For larger leaks, just blowing air into the exhaust and feeling with your hand works too.

Make sure shop vac is clean.... you don't want to be blowing anything nasty into your exhaust system.
