Anyone got any recommendations for mountain biking books? Even better if its on Audible with a fun reader.

I forgot to cancel my subscription and have a few credits I need to use before I cancel. I listened to "Finding Ultra" about a guy training and running for an ultra marathon in Hawaii. Almost done with my fly fishing audio book. I have some others queued up, but want to use these credits first so I can cancel.

Not a biking book but check out The Comfort Crisis. Great book on the mental/physical health benefits of adventuring.

This is a good read...excellent chronology of the Schwinn family and company history, from it's founding all the way through the bankruptcy proceedings:

I have a couple of the Lonely Planet bicycle touring books. They are fun to look through and dream/plan. The Danny M book is good! Also look for the Hans Rey book..."A Life of Mountain Bike Adventures."

100% getting it, derailleur first, brakes later. :spending:

Hanging my current XTR der. in a glass case on the wall, 2019 -> current. Flawless performance.

    It is damn sexy…

Rode it in Sedona back in March…had to sign an NDA that expired today…but man, the shifter is so different than the AXS/AXS Pods. Super tactile in its feedback. Shifting was precise and FAST…almost a smooth as Transmission.

This “upgrade kit” works with all existing 12 speed Shimano stuff.

Very cool to see the Blue Crew finally releasing truly wireless MTB bits.

Oh, and the new XTR 9200 4 piston brakes are…:bananadead:

Wouldn’t be sexy when I forget to charge the battery!
I’m too forgetful with batteries, I need to stay away from battery operated shifting for my own good.

Same here. Considering how frequently I forget to charge my phone, I don’t think I’m fit for a wireless drivetrain.

I don’t know of MTB books but North by Scott Jurek is good if you like finding ultra, the push by Tommy caldwell and I throw out Fahrenheit-182 by mark hoppus if you like blink 182 bonus cause mark hoppus actually narrates.

Thanks everyone for the book recommendations. I used my 3 audible credits for the comfort crisis, be brave be strong a GDMBR novel, and fahrenheit-182 because i love blink 182. there was a danny macaskill book in one of the lists, but no audible :(. the schwinn book sounded good too, but again no audible.

Which version, I might be interested.

I have GoPros and they do well at other stuff, but not sold on their 360 footage from my limited uses.

Its an Insta360 Go2. Its a few years old - terrible battery life, clunky UI - so you have to use the app to start/stop. I've had multiple runs not recorded because of issues with the buttons.

I have piles of gopros, all have had the same issues. Overheating, locking up, corrupting SDs, weird firmware glitches, etc.. Recently they have trying to push the subscription crap , and you're forced to use their terrible app for basic functions. DJI has their shit together and have produced a superior product all around at this point.
