Blacked out AFTERMARKET headlight that DONT SUCK!

Title says it all, I bought a cheap pair from Amazon. They lasted two years before the protective coding film started flaking off and moisture was let into the housing. I don’t mind spending what it would cost for an OEM set, but unfortunately, Toyota does not make a blackout version for a 2009 Tacoma! I would have to go after Market. Does anyone have any experience with a really high end of good looking blacked out headlights? Buy once cry once

 

In essence, no.

In order for it to be both quality and smoked, you need a reliable light source that can put out enough lumens to overcome the tint. And then you need to calibrate the lamp, tint, and housing so that it doesn't scatter the light and blind oncoming traffic. Nobody is going to put in that kind of R&D for a fad that is rapidly waning in popularity.

You'd do better if you decided to love the current fashion: clear heads and tails.

 

Sorry I should’ve been more clear, I’m not looking for smoked. I’m looking for Black housing or the back of the headlight being black. The front lens can be clear

 

Buy OEM units and do the BHLM.

 

OEM lights + BHLM + PPF = Good to go for years.

 

You can always wetsand your current units, spray 2K clear. Open them up, clean them up nicely and reseal them good.

Thanks for the link to those last two headlights. But for that price, I’m afraid that they will do the same thing. The ones I bought on eBay did, do you personally have experience with them?

 

Yes, I bought mine are car id 4 years ago and haven’t had any issues with them. They do come with a H1 bulb and no longer are the H4.
When I return home from vacation I’ll take some photos of the light output. I swapped them over to LED from Auxbeam. I run 10% on my windshield and have no issues with seeing.

 

All black aftermarket headlights suck

 

I bought some tyc headlights awhile back form Rock auto they have been amazing so far except the blinker bulbs that come in them super bright and will Melt the connector but I swapped those out fine after that great quality. (Mine are the stock ones)

 

I think you're going to be very disappointed with the light output of those.

 

yeah - i had those on my 4th gen 4runner and they were great, no issues at all, for 6.5 years

 

Get DEPO brand stock style headlights, they seem to be the best ones I've found outside of OEM
