Driver window is stuck down and all I need to do is figure out how to manually roll it back up until I can figure out the real issue. Any input is helpful! Just need to temporarily get it rolled up so I can drive to work and around town without leaving window down.

No luck. I have the door panel off but I can’t get the gears from the power window to disengage so it can be rolled up.

You have to separate the glass from the regulator. And once its separated it wont stay up on its own.

Not trying to sound unhelpful but there aren't really any shortcuts to getting the window up. Glass is bolted to regulator, regulator bolted to motor, motor bolted to door frame..

Manually pull the window up when you press the button

I can’t get the window rolled up enough to reach the screw that holds the glass to the regulator. Does this mean I will have to remove the entire interior metal panel of the door?

Unbolt the motor/regulator from the frame and that should give some room to shift things around

How do I know if the regulator or the motor (or both) need to be replaced? Does anyone have a part number for the replacement?

Disconnect the motor from the regulator. See if the regulator moves freely. Jump power to the motor and see if it turns

Did you check for a signal at the motor yet? You need power and ground with the window switch pushed. Reverse the meter leads in the opposite direction

Latest update. Motor works when going down but not up? Would this indicate a switch or wiring issue?

I even bought a new motor/regulator and the new one would only roll down and not back up?

The window switch reverses polarity so the motor can go forward and backwards. I think a fairly common problem is to have one of the contacts in the switch go bad so the window only works in one direction. Some guys have been able to carefully take the switch apart and clean the contacts. You're looking for burned crud right on the electrical contacts preventing good flow of electricity

When i push the switch in a down position this is the result I get on the multimeter. Don’t know if I have the settings right but it shows 0.00 when I try and roll up

    Thanks for the help!

So it would seem your switch is bad but 18v is way too high unless your meter is crap and not reading right, was the truck running?

Yea I have several of those laying around, never seen one that far off.
In any case if your on the drivers side checking across the motor terminals and only getting voltage in the down position but not the up position it can't really be anything other than the switch.

I will be honest I’m really not sure if I have the setting on the meter in the correct spot to get an accurate reading. Not sure if that matters or not.

Going to try some electronic contact cleaner on the switch next and see if that helps.

Welp culprit was the switch. Replaced the whole master panel with a cheap one from Amazon and back to working order When this one inevitably fails I’ll clean the OEM better and get it working again.

Please also check the voltage on your battery even if the switch is now working. You may have a bad voltage regulator if it is indeed sending out 17 volts, which will damage many other electronics in your vehicle if left unfixed (very expensive electronics at that). I have never seen a multimeter that far off. If you have an OBD scanner, you can usually check voltage using that which will serve as a second source for what your voltage is.
