I went with the Alpha Rex in "Alpha Black" on my 2022. Are they the brightest?, Cant say, but they work fine for me. I love the look and the sequential functionality. Having said that, I hear the NEW Morimoto's are really good as well.
    Good luck on your decision.
The install was a bit of a bitch, but worth the effort and satisfaction I got from the install.

I was, I was getting tail lights too. I said the taillights went on and they look great, but I was just following up about the fitment.... I wasn't gonna make a new thread over that, those also aren't stock taillights those are the XB tail lights that are matching taillights to go with the headlights I got, I wanted the tail lights first then decided to upgrade the headlights as well, which is when I made the thread to find out which was best.

I understand now and stand corrected. Gap looks about the same to me as the one on this OEM light. Good looking light!

Currently have OEM LED for my 2021 tacoma, wanted to see whether the morimoto XB Evo would be worthy of an upgrade, from what I have seen, where the xb evo shines is the high beam distance, low beam width is not as great as OEM LED. Any one upgraded from OEM LED to Morimoto XB Evo could chime in?
    Thanks!

I love the xb evo since having them, they are extremely bright but not just in flood I mean actual travel distance down the road of the light is much further then before. And headlight revolution made a video comparing all the tacoma headlights and rating them. The low beam and high beam both out perform the OEM LED. They have some gimmicky but sometimes helpful feature like the defroster lens and the ability to customize the DRL color. Overall i'm very happy with them, just comes down to if you wanna spend the $1500. Especially since you have OEM LED which I had the Sr5 halogen lights so i felt more of a need to upgrade. But considering I got mine a month ago figured i'd give some input to help, def worth it if you can justify it financially, but it also depends since you have the OEM LEDs which Id argue you have that toyota factory quality

I've been reading all the headlight threads since I got my '22 a couple of months back, and had made an assumption that I was going to have to swap to LED's to be happy with the headlight output since my SR5 has the OEM halogens. I had a '22 Frontier SV with their OEM halogens a couple years back, and they were terrible headlights so I just assumed the Taco would need an LED Housing upgrade as well. Had pretty much decided on buying the OEM LEDs, and using them.

However, I had an opportunity to drive it in the dark last week (first time since buying it), and I was pleasantly surprised with the output of these stock halogen housings, on both the low and high beam settings. I don't know if the PO did the H9 low beam bulb swap already (I need to look), but these were waaaaaay better than the garbage headlights in the Nissan. The light is more yellow in color than the LED headlights in my wife's SUV, but the actual light output was good and I think to start, I'll just check to see if they already swapped in the H9s and perhaps just go from there before looking at LEDs. I really like the old school amber DRL on these housings as well.

I do a ton of dark mornings and night driving in the winter months since where I live it gets dark at 4:15pm after we move back to standard time vs daylight savings time, so that will be the real test later this year, but I'm hoping I'll be happy with just the H9 bulb swap. If not, this thread has been beneficial since it really helped summarize LED options down to OEM housings vs Morimoto.

I've don the H9 low beam swap and I am underwhelmed. Still looking for an improvement in distance.
