2025 Tacoma TRD Off Road - Within a few minutes of starting a new trip, the "infotainment" display will show "Flood Warning"....followed by the date and time it is for. Not a big deal except that it is showing a date and time that is weeks old. I have tried turning of the Apple weather app.......and my phone is never connected to my Infotainment system by blue tooth. Any suggestions on disabling weather notices .....or at least.... have them setup where they update. I was informed by the dealer that is it associated with Apple Car Play.....but I see no direct setting.

When flood warning pops up, are you able to tap on it and see what app it take you to? Maybe post a photo of it to see if anyone recognizes the app message.

Tapping on it does nothing....but I will try to get a photo of it and upload.

That’s not apple or phone related alert. I think it’s Toyotas connected alerts. I get the slow down school zone alert also.

On your multimedia display, go to settings (gear icon bottom left)>Notifications. Turn everything off. Turn off vehicle at convenience. At next power up turn what you want back on. It this fails, next step is soft reset which may erase some user data.

Thank yall for the quick responses. I will first try turning off the Sirius Notifications....as shown in the YouTube video in post by JB_TN. The vehicle I traded in for my 2025 TRD Off-Road was a 2005 Silverado. It is unreal the technology that comes standard on new vehicles these days. At my age, I will most likely not see how what levels the technology (including AI on autos) will reach in 20 years. I will repost to let all know if the Sirius fix worked. Again....thank yall!

Truth. Our vehicles are a 14 RAV Limited and a 13 Tacoma 5 lug.

When we fly somewhere and rent a vehicle (like this week) it takes a few minutes in the lot to make sure I have all the basics before moving.

Arriving tired and frustrated on a delayed flight late at night, travelling unknown, un-lit and barely marked roads, in a storm, in an unfamiliar vehicle, can be quite the experience. :anonymous:

OTOH I've learned a Nissan Rogue turbo will return high 30s in mixed driving and right at 40 interstate cruising in the hills of Tenn and KY. Pretty comfy too.

Not to sound rude but your last car was 20 years old hahaha. If you don’t change cars in 3 to 4 years tech jump to the next vehicle will be like a space ship . Lot of the tech in the current Tacoma is on my 2015 BMW now.

The Sirius Notification setting - turn off - did not work. Still getting the May 20, 2025 flood warning. Next attempt is what Snickers recommended. Will let yall know and thanks again for the help.

Yep....20 years old....even my co-workers were laughing at me on a daily basis. I even offered to park my old Silverado away from their vehicles where nobody would easily notice it. The truck before my Silverado was a 15 year old F-150. And...by the way....my 20 year old silverado only had 126,000 miles on it.

I don't know why my vehicle needs to be a media device when I take a phone anywhere I drive? I just had to say that.

I saw a Chevy truck commercial yesterday they are throwing in shots of square bodies and maybe other older Chevy trucks to sell NEW trucks. That right there tells me manufacturers know there are customers out there that don't want the stuff they are building today.

Are you located in Calcasieu Parish? If so, the NWS says there is still a flood warning for the Sabine River. If that's the case, you may not be able to clear the alert, and once the NWS lifts the warning the system will probably update and remove the alert.

Box trucks are different from customers trucks. Box trucks do not need those fancy tech like we have today in today's customers vehicles. Some of box trucks have tech in them depending on the regions. EV box trucks will be helpful to the drivers for self driving and assisting. There are some driverless semi trucks out there.

Some don't realize that if anyone do not want those tech in the vehicles, they should buy low end old vehicle, for example, Tacoma SR which have very basic stuff in it.

A guy told me that he doesn't want power mirrors, power windows, no radio, etc. I told him, I don't know if it is possible to build like that. If he wants no tech vehicle, he would have bought 80's vehicle. He doesn't want old vehicle from 80's.. I was like WTF. He obviously does not know how the world works. He never research, he doesn't know what to do. I gave up and he doesn't get it. I even told him to get low end tacoma (with rear seat delete, just like work truck), he said it's too small for him. So I gave up.

I also told him, he could buy work truck that has basic stuff, but not sure unless factory added the tech in it to make your life easier. I noticed that Toyota added low end tech in 25 Tacoma SR.

Some folks just like to complain which is fine I like a good rant myself. I know people who complain about what someone else is eating for lunch they didn't buy it, they aren't eating it, and the food doesn't have an offensive odor where it would bother somebody else yet they feel the need to complain. People make observations and in turn give their unsolicited opion then the conversation moves on to something else.

Those people are weird. Sounds like they are scared to eat. Which is why they are concerned and look at the food at other tables. They are afraid to eat then get sick. That’s what happened to McDonalds burgers months ago. They got sick from those.

Again..I do not mind flood warnings to appear on my Toyota Infotainment screen....but the exact same one....with the exact same date and time.....for 14 straight days? Nope. I belive I have tracked down the "middle man".... In the Toyota App on my phone...is a weather notification setting that can be turned off. So far no more weather related alerts. Now...where the Toyota App was getting the weather info from...I have no idea. Thank yall again for all of yalls suggestions!
