So what is everyone doing about the damage caused by the 1st gen Cat Shield? Mine doesn't seem too bad compared to others, but it still is a decent hole to collect dirt/salt which will likely expedite rust and corrosion.

Does the damage happen on both sides or is it concentrated on one side? I still need to swap to the 2nd gen cat shield and I’m not sure where to look for any damage.

this is my drivers side. I didn’t check my passenger side. They are sending a new set so I’ll probably just replace both.

The tight fitment was on the drivers side for me. Swapped both sides with the updated version over the weekend, kudos to caliraised led for standing behind their product.

It should be very easy to visually check if things are too tight, just shove your head under and look near the logo cutout. If the catalytic converter heat shield is touching or very close it will be obvious.

The new version is also a tiny bit easier to install, no longer does the shield need to be routed over the cross member.

If it really bothers you I think the shield is sold on its own as two pieces. 18445-0P020 I believe is the lower piece... I'm not near my truck to verify so I'd double check before blindly ordering that part.

That being said it's a heat shield that isn't sealed to the elements, you could argue that if you got a hole worn in it it will drain even better than stock. Any moisture that ends up in there is going to evaporate pretty quickly as catalytic converters get *hot*.

Started rattling even while stopped with foot on brake…it was the front of the drivers side rapidly flexing making noise so I wedged some foam in the space and that solved the rattle. Did this six months ago.

Purchased for $190 shipped on 3/24/25, received days later. Finally installed today. Didn't have to lift the truck, just scooted under both sides (and my OR is stock height).
One gripe is that the included T40 tamper proof Torx bolts used in the front of the support tube are shorter than the stock, when they should probably be 5mm longer to support the addition of the shield that they now support.
But I'm glad I went this route rather than some of the Amazon options.

    Aloha,

I received the Cali Raised cat shield for my truck yesterday and installed it today.

Not difficult but took a little longer due to close quarters under the truck. I suppose I could have used the Rhino ramp but didn't think it was really necessary.

Quick tip which is probably obvious ... I used a little bit of dish soap to help the rubber bumpers slide easier into the converter shields.

Glad to have peace of mind that the cat converters are protected. Not really an issue here on the islands but just a cheaper alternative to the headaches, inconvenience, and expense of having them stolen.

BTW, I chose the Cali Raised over the Miller Catshield I installed on my son's 2022. The Miller shield is good but I now realize that any maintenance on the transmission would require the catshield to be removed. It was a chore to install it. Having to remove and reinstall for trans service would not be fun.

The Cali Raised shields only cover the cat converters. So no removal/re-install pains to deal with when it comes to any work between the shields.

***** Kudos and much mahalo to Cali Raised for their excellent customer service. The initial shipment for whatever reason got stuck on the mainland. They took care of the problem and shipped out a replacement.

Outstanding product and Outstanding customer service!
