In my view, success/failure of new products are an important indicator. Would I care about mid cycle sales figures of the GR86? No, definitely not.
TM has settled into a trading range of late. Unfortunately the range is about 10-20% off highs. Need some good news.

The sales numbers will reinforce Toyota's design and packaging decisions. If it's not broke, don't fix it. Don't expect changes anytime soon.

I own 500ish shares and I don't care about the sales numbers since I believe in toyota. I own a hell of a lot more Ford stock but as long as they keep paying that dividend, I am OK with their shitty ranger sales.

Ford distancing itself from EV did that have any impact on dividens? Short I'd think it would as that was a money losing direction. Recently Toyota has moved in the other direction toward EV, Toyota was also losing money on EV, but they weren't as invested. I know both of them are losing out globally in the EV sector against the competition. Long term I don't think that will make much difference in either company's earnings. I'd buy Ford stock over Toyota because they offer more products for commercial customers.

F is a penny stock. You need 10k+ shares to make any money.

On the other hand TM stock can make you some real money. Four trades so far paid for my 4Runner and half of my Tacoma. If Toyota does something stupid and drops the stock down to 158 or 160 again, I’ll buy a block then hold it again till it pops.

I'm still surprised that 4dr midsizes are as popular as they are It's all the big two make. That's what's on the lot which makes it easier for people to decide to buy and it's what everyone is used to seeing and they become set on that configuration people also like the upper trims that are limited to 4dr cabs.

I don't think Ram Jeep and Dodge will go away. Can they survive on 1/2 ton, HD, and Promaster sales along with Gladiator + Wrangler and Durangos? I see Grand Cherokee and Wagoneers on the road but it's not many.

I am in F at about $5. I sold half at around $18 and have the kept the rest for long term since it is now free money. Currently just under 6% annual dividends. I had a good friend who got me into Tesla many years ago and with his help I fully funded my retirement.

    Yay! Good job!

I started buying Nvidia back in 2001 when all the children were putting their gamer cards in their PCs. I eventually sold it and made a shit ton of profit, but I wish I had held it for two more splits.

I thought the game consoles would crush Nvidia. Then bitcoin came along, and now AI.

I still have a fair amount of their stock but wish I had held every share.

Funny how people brag about their investing wins but fail to mention any losses. I know better.

Any losses are far offset by gains. My largest fund was down 20% last year, but 2020 and 2021 were over 100% returns. Those that I know that have large losses have always tried to hit a home run every time. I’ve averaged well over 10% over the last 15 years.

Or panicked when the market hiccups. Though the more of those I go through over the years, the more easy it is to not worry and ride it out. Just be sure to have any funds you expect to need within 2-3 years in fairly conservative places.

There is. It is just overpriced. Trust me. I had this same feeling, and then couldn't let it go.

My local dealer has zero in stock, 90%+ are sold before arrival.
