Trying to wrap up this project before it gets dark and was hoping you guys might be able to help out. I’ve gotta set a hell of 500 LEDs. They’re the ones with the built-in turn signal. I’ve got a ground coming off the back of each light as well as a constant hot and a green wire for the directional. I want to tap that green wire into the directional on my headlights. I will tap each light(L and R) Into each directional wire coming off the back of each headlight (L and R) Which color wire coming off the back of the turn signal harness should I tap? There appears to be a red, which I would imagine is constant hot, a white with a black stripe, which I would imagine is ground, and a yellow, which I would imagine is the flasher. I tried the yellow, and I must’ve shorted out the flashing unit relay because now my hazards don’t flash and none of my signals work. The bulbs are still good And work. Here is the twist. I have done the daytime running light mod so my signals are constantly on. For the life of me I can’t remember how I did it and I’m wondering if maybe it’s just a fuse blown or something in regards to the daytime running light mod. Any help would be appreciated in getting this buttoned up most likely I will have to buy a new relay, on that note: will I need an LED compatible relay?

Well that wasn’t fun getting to this little bastard! Still looking for the answer to my question if someone could confirm the yellow solid wire is the one that I need to tap, and if I need an LED specific relay

I’ve never messed with it on a Tacoma, but in trailer harnesses yellow is left turn and green is right turn. Not sure if that translates though.

OK I got the Hella 500s all wired up and working the way I want. But as I mentioned in the process of figuring it out, I must’ve done something because my turn signals are not flashing, my hazards are not flashing. When I turn the signal left and right it just stays on without blinking. That led me to believe it was the flasher relay which was very deep beneath a wiring harness block near the fuse panel after researching how to get to the flasher relay I removed it, called Toyota. They wanted $89 for their OEM part. I went to VIP and showed them the part in the number and they gave me a replacement Aftermarket, for $24. I plugged that in and I’m still not getting any flashing. Anyone have any thoughts? Do I need to just bite the bullet and get the OEM flasher. Or is there some other fuse associated with that system that I should check

    Few questions

    How did you wire them?
    What wires (colors)

And do you have Daytime Running Lights? (The DTRL are the flashers. They will always have power to them with the head lights off)
