So I’ve got an ‘07 Tacoma 4x4 running Bilstein 5100s all around. Fronts are currently set at 1.5” to level it out, but after 15+ years, they’re completely shot. The ride quality is terrible on-road and off-roading is borderline miserable.

I’m ready to make a decent upgrade focused on moderate off-roading and daily driving comfort. I don’t tow or haul. Here’s my current plan:
    • Front: Bilstein 6112s @ 2.75” - planning on keeping standard springs even though I have the front bumper, heard this is the way to go unless you get 6112's specifically valved for a higher spring rate (please, correct me if I am wrong)
    • Rear: Bilstein 5160s
    • UCAs: Dirt King tubulars
Where I’m stuck is the rear leaf situation. I was eyeing the Deaver F85 mini pack, but that’s about 1.5” lift in the rear, leaving me ~0.25-0.5” of rake. Not a huge deal, but I’d prefer something just a bit lower for looks. I also know that an AAL or Mini Pack is really just a band-aid for an 18+ year old truck...

    From what I understand:
    • The stock 2nd gen leafs are flat, which limits shackle options to reduce height.
    • A full leaf replacement like Deaver Stage 1 Expedition would ride better, but raises the rear ~2” so more noticeable rake.
    • I’ve also heard the 5160s can feel jittery at higher speed off-road so I want to match them well with a solid leaf upgrade
    My goals:
    • Best performance upgrade for how old this truck is
    • Comfortable ride + decent travel for light to moderate off-roading
    • Keep it looking clean and not too raked
I’ve attached pics of the current front/rear and the leaf spring condition (yes, I know the bushings, joints, etc. look terrible, I plan to knock those out with the suspension swap).

Looking for brainstorming/recommendations from folks with experience here. Should I stick with the mini pack? Is there a better value full-pack option? Any creative way to keep rake mild while still improving rear performance?

Appreciate any help. For all I know, my knowledge and intuition here may be completely off and I know I will get absolutely grilled for it, but that is why I am reaching out! haha

I used the Icon RXT pack and I’m very happy with it both on and off road.

will depend on how much weight you carry in the back

i've got the 6112/5160s and deaver stage 2s in the back, but i'm undersprung on both the front and rear

i put 650#'s in the front but with the semi-hidden bumper and winch i should of put 700s

then with the camper, fridge, diesel heater/tank, tools, etc i should be stage 3 in the back
