    I have 160k miles on my 2016, original belt still showing no wear or cracks. I just bought a new belt from the dealer for about $90. Tired of wondering if it’s going to break haha. Thanks for the write up!

    I just used a regular ratchet to loosen belt and put new on on. I found it quite easy to pull the tensioner all the way back. Am I super strong or is the spring losing its strength?

    Great thread. I am of the camp to change serp belts around the same time as plugs (60K) or 10 years for low mileage vehicles. Is there a 'proper' tool tool replace the allen key? There must be a $200 solution, correct?

    Amazingly the Allen key is the ticket. Every now and then we win one against Toyota.

    I took an old screwdriver and cut the tip off, works great too.

    Just replaced at ~ 33k miles, but 4 years old belt. It was leaving burned/stuck on rubber on the idler pulley wheels (pulled those and cleaned off the gunk!)....rubber belts and batteries every 4 years. Rinse, wash, repeat. Kudos to the OP of the thread, great write up - the most tedious thing is really just routing the new belt on correct line - few spots are pretty tight. All done, drank that beer - then go do next chore of day for wifey :)

    This was really helpful, especially the allen wrench size and location of the tensioner service hole. I replaced my belt with the Toyota part number 90916-A2037 from the TSB to hopefully get rid of the chirping. Currently at 40,784 miles, just got noisy a couple of months ago. The Toyota belt is also marked with Bando part number 7PK2120, so there is a potential cost savings there if you get the Bando part directly instead or the re-part-marked Toyota version.
