After 220K miles on our 1995 4wd, it's time to refresh the harsh front end suspension. I just want a comfort/OEM feel for street driving. I'm trying to save some money, but I do want reasonably durable parts. This is what I'm planning on installing:

    • KYB Excel-G inserts
    • Moog MOK200119-4 lower control arm bushings
    Moog K80596 end links
    • MOOG-K90261 LBJ
    • Chinese poly sway bar bushings
    • Chinese poly steering rack bushings (I know mine are bad)

Am I going to regret anything, here? And is there anything else I should replace while I'm at it?

Also, Toyota seems to have two different part numbers for the control arm bushings. But Moog seems to think they are the same part? The Toyota bushings are crazy expensive, what is the best course of action for these bushings?

Id just look for a decent quality LCA that comes with bushings and ball joint already installed. That would ensure you got correct bushings

Also don't be surprised if the alignment cam bolts are seized and need to be cut out and replaced

Most folks experience with Moog parts is that they need to be replaced in a much shorter time frame than OEM parts. Ie, those lower control arm bushings are probably going to be shot after two years. My personal experience with Moog u joints, was that I had to change them out after only a year of highway driving.

As for the lower ball joints, go OEM unless you want your wheels to fall off.

Go OEM on LCA/UCA bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, tie rod links and steering rack. Suspension work is brutal and not something you want to do again sooner than needed.

The bushings of choice for rack and sway bar are Energy Suspension poly red (black is more stiff,) but be sure to get ES grease with them and lube bushing-to-metal contact so they don't squeak.

Replacing bushings in existing arms would add at least 6 hours to the project (for me) so consider going with assembled LCA's from Toyota, they're only a couple hundred per side.

You won't find OEM coilovers/shocks any more, check out suspensionlifts.com, they offer a 4 corner set with assembled coilovers, as close to stock as you'll find. (I'm running them.)

The timing belt replacement is recommended at 100K, was that done or is it due?

Attached is a price list from 2023 for my '03 front end, many of the parts are the same as your '95 but it will give you a decent price comparison for OEM parts.
