    Hey all,
I have an 03 tacoma. Apparently my bed is 1 inch wider and longer than the second and the third gen tacomas. Anyone ever put a 2nd/3rd gen bed mat in a 1st gen? I think it should be fine as the measurement differences are minimal. Thoughts?

    Hard to believe it bigger.

no its actually bigger, there are a couple of forums on here that say the width but the legth of the first gen is 61.2" and the newer ones are 60 inches.

In that case it should fit, just 1/2" short around the perimeter if you centered it.

Do you want it to prevent things from sliding, looks, or both?

You might treat the inside of the bed to a helping of Monstaliner (www.monstaliner.com) and see how that works out for you.

If you still want/need a mat, shop a used one, or some folks use horse stall mats from places like Tractor Supply and trim them to fit their bed. That might get you a closer fit if needed.

I'll have to see if one of my friends has a bedmat I can try in mine. That might be the best option to test fit. Yeah on eBay used ones are pretty cheap usually. Not sure how much that monstaliner stuff is or how well it works. Have any experience with it?

Check the website and the builds folks have done/do with it. It's awesome stuff. Very durable, up on the LineX level. Much cheaper than LineX, and has color choices. Sometimes black isn't the best look. Great to do bumpers, fender flares and rocker panels with too.

Since this is the only thread about a bed mat in a first gen I’ll add a pic here for other people looking for it. Here’s a bed mat in my single cab 6ft bed.

It is just a little narrow but still works well.

Every time I see in a 1st gen for sale I message them. Which has been 3 in the last week, but then usually already claimed :/

I looked on “Search Tempest” The nationwide Craigslist search and they pop every now and again but no one is willing to ship and the one I found of the guy who SUPPOSEDLY still had it, seemed too sketchy so I stopped looking

Thread revival. I'm looking for a 6' bed mat for my 2000 if anyone comes across any info. I'm even looking for one I can cut to fit.

After thinking about it, I don't really want to go the horse mat route because I want something that I can easily remove.

Dang, the one on Ebay showed up. I did a little research on it and when I went back to buy it, it shows no longer available. Nice to have a part number though.

    I appreciate everyone's help.
