    Hi all,
I’ve been looking around and have not been able to find anyone with the same problem that I have - but my apologies if there is a post somewhere that covers this. I just purchased an OEM overhead console with temp/compass display, according to the seller, fitting a 2005-2015 taco. Mine is a 2012 and it has a temperature sensor in front of the grill. When I went to plug it in, what I assume is the temperature plug appears to be the wrong size. The other plug(s) in there are for the map lights, which plugs in and works, and the larger one that I believe is wiring for a backup camera. Please see attached pictures of the plugs and the console. Is there some sort of an adapter that I need? Is this the wrong console and I’m out of luck? Thank you very much for your help.

What’s wrong with the compass/gauge that you’re trying to fix?

    The seller is incorrect.

First off there are two different accessory meters (05-08 & 09-11) and they do not interchange, the 05-08 meter connects directly to the ambient temp sensor and the 09-11 one gets a digital temp signal from the A/C Amplifier.

The last year for the accessory meter was 2011, 12 & 13 had the compass, temp, and backup camera in the rearview mirror, 14 & 15 the compass and temperature was discontinued and the backup camera moved to the radio.

Now if you have an 09-11 accessory meter it's possible you could make it work providing the temp signal from the A/C Amplifier is the same on the 12 (which I don't know) and you can find a connector for it to wire in.

If you have an 05-08 meter you would need to wire in a connector, ambient temp sensor & connector, and mount the sensor & run wires to it.
