2005 Toyota tacoma speedometer issue

    my speedometer sometimes does not work, theres days that i will driv with no speed indication and then it randomly will start working, then theres day when i start driving it works fine, any ideas?

    negative! it does throw the check engine light on and it gives a speed sensor code, i replaced the vss but that didnt work

    Auto trucks don't use a Vehicle Speed Sensor, read the post I linked above (scroll down to P0500).

    Quick and dirty check when it's not working tap on the cluster, if it starts working again it's in the cluster (most likely a cracked solder joint).
