My a/c will work in the morning and night - but in the heat of the day it blows warm air

I've heard it could be electrical - the compressor - or the expansion valve getting stuck

    Anyone have a best guess?

Here are a few notes to showcase what's been happening:

4/30 @12:15p - blew cold to till I stopped for gas - after filing up blew warm

5/2 @2:24p - ran cold for about 8-10 min before blowing warm/hot - toasty day

5/4 @3:32 - blew cold for about 30 min then cut out - driving on highway

5/13 @12:43p - 4 min into driving started blowing warm

5/20 - blew cold the whole day

I had exact same problem on 01 Forester

    I scoured internet
I found a vid on a Altima exact same symptoms. Was the expansion valve

I replace the EV and re-charged. My ice cold and then hot and then ice cold vent air issue was fixed

on the Subaru, the EV easily accessible on the firewall. On our taco’s, not so much.
Part on the evaporator that is behind the glove box

I searched and searched to try to find that video…..to no avail.

    this one explains similar symptoms
