Just got a 19 tacoma trd offroad from the dealer a not long ago but CEL and traction light came on. i ran the obd scanner to it and got code P0012 and p0022 bank 1 bank 2 position A camshaft trimming over-retarded. i replaced the 2 intake camshaft sensors (position A sensors). cleared the codes but they came back. also a low oil pressure warning came on. any ideas on what could be? I want to avoid dealer if its something small... truck has 83k miles, engine dip stick says oil is good. i also removed camshaft sensors to checked if there was oil on them and it looked like there was oil reaching them.

Last person who had these codes had timing chain off by 1 tooth and issue with crank position sensor/reluctor wheel..
Oil pressure could contribute to the issue.
Check wiring to vvt intake solenoid.
Replace oil with a correct type.
But I would return to the dealer to have them look at. Could be expensive

SO took it to dealer and they told me it was vvt intake solenoids and also it has a failed oil pump. really disappointed in these situation because i mainly went with the Tacoma because of Toyota is very reliable brand.... anyway might have just gotten unlucky but they quoted 6k to fix issue....

My truck is pulling these same codes. Did you end up getting this fixed? Were you able to drive the truck around till you did? My truck is the only way I move around. And I got work.....

I’m really considering trading my Tacoma it seems lately the 2gr-fks is failing a lot I know it’s a small percentage but I don’t want to be one of the unlucky ones.
