So, a while back my ebrake light came on and I have not been able to solve the problem. It’s a 2007.

Fluid level is good, master cylinder low sensor appears to be working, brake handle switch appears to be good. I’m starting to wonder if it’s ABS related (do get an occasional light), but not sure what to check next. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

There are only three things that I know that turn on the "Brake" LED on the Combination Meter.

    1. Low Brake Fluid.
    2. Parking Brake Switch.
    3. Skid Control ECU.

I’ve heard some mention the ABS module could be the culprit. Is that the same ECU you’re referring to?

Skid Control ECU = ABS module on Toyota

You need to see if you have any codes in the ABS module, also look in data and verify PKB SW is off.

Around $26,000 worth of unleaded in the fuel tank.
If your parking brake cable is out of adjustment it can cause the handle to be pulled out a bit and trigger the light.
