It looks like there is no Toyota accessory towing mirrors on their build website. If that's the case, what is everybody using?

Anybody? I put some Dodge ones on my '09, direct fit. They flipped up for towing and I liked the bigger mirror surface for everyday driving. TIA Cheers, Dave

I think Toyota incorporates a rear trailer camera as an option. Most people aren't going to want lage tow mirrors on a 4G, I do like the visibility tow mirrors provide. For the Tacoma, Toyota should design side view mirrors with a convex mirror like tow mirrors. They do it for the Rav4.

When I had my '24, there were no options for true towing mirrors, like you installed on your '09. I used some clamp on types I picked up from Etrailer that were 'meh'. Glad I was only towing locally.
I see for the 3Gs, there is still an aftermarket option that looks very similar to the Dodge Ram towing mirrors of yesteryear, but still don't see applications for the 4G yet.

In case you can’t find any, Toyota offers to sell you tow mirrors, with a Tundra wedged between them. Might be a little more expensive than buying separately though.

On my Gen 2, I use these aftermarket Dodge type -- after a couple people adapted them to their Tacoma, the mfr. (Pro EFX was the name at the time) came out with a Tacoma specific version. There's an old thread here where there was a group buy that I got into.

Looks like they're still available under the Trail Ridge name:

I'm also interested in what may be available for the 4th gen, as I will likely be trading up in the not too distant future.
My new camper is 1000# heavier than the old one - 5000# vs 4000#. Once I get a couple more tows on it using my truck, I'll decide whether I want to go with something bigger. I'd like to stick with a small pickup, so my preference would be another Tacoma, or maybe a Ranger if I want just a bit more HP and load capacity.

If you don't already have the 4G you could get a Tundra with tow mirrors from the factory. What do you plan on towing? I'm pretty sure you can't swap tow mirrors and regular mirrors on the Tundra I heard the harnesses are not the same.

Does the Tundra and Tacoma share the same mirrors? If a work a round becomes available.

Thanks all for the great responses. I like the 'Tundra wedged between them' ;-) I tow a T@B, so less than 2000lbs. I get that Toyota wouldn't want to put 'Dumbo ears' on such a beautiful truck. But towing is a thing and doing it properly, i.e. being able to see out back is critical. My purchase is a ways away yet, but doin' my research now. Again, thanks for all the responses. I spend a bit of time on the 2nd gen forum and it is also excellent!

The 4th gen shares the same mirror glass as the 3rd and the RAV4. If you look online for replacement convex glass there are options. Granted, they don’t offer the extended width of a true towing mirror, but it would be a great help.

A 2010 with a bathroom and we love it. We're kinda minimal people, so it suits us. Would love to have A/C tho. I'll either install or maybe we'll upgrade. Pulls like a dream
