LC header for the 2.7

    what a pia!! finally was able to get new one in place but is not lining up with the bolts. if i would've know this would suck so bad wouldnt have done it!!
    :mad::mad: hope i can get it bolted in and is worth it in the end. any one have this problem??

    well its installed called the company told me somthing i didnt know, due to my inexperience...remove the studs from the cylinderhead before atempting to slap it in. if i woulda known would've been MUCH easier.

    The LCE is def a work of art! I think i might buy another one and put it on my mantel as a center piece! haha maybe even put those pipes to use when i have 4 people over . . . . . . . . . . . . .

    debadged ,grillcraft grill,blacked out headlights secondary filter removed,k&n filter,made a ram air tube to the airbox using 3 inch diameter flexible tubing ,sony reciever added ,rockford frosgate shallow mount sub added ,infinity component speakers added and powered by external amp,added cheap exhaust tip,added oem foglights,added helwig swaybar,shortened my antenna,dumped exhaust behind rear axel.
    what do you mean remove the studs from the cylinder head ? because I have some of these headers on the way

    i havent gotten anything tuned yet but honestly its hard to tell if it did anything. Headers installed was like WOW, maf cal installed . . . . . not much happening

    And i installed mine without taking tha studs out and it was fairly simple so not sure why he had to do that

    The tune from gadget states up to 12 hp....that means 12 HP at redline. If you want to feel the gain maybe drive wot around town and maybe you will feel the pull once your engine gets rev happy.

    you'll see when you pull the stock header, therep said somtimes people have to pull the studs(very easy) to get it to fit in. dont know maybe my studs longer than most. :cool:

    I'm on the borderline of ordering this header, I don't really care if there's no major gains below 2500 rpm, my only concern is did you guys loose any low end?

    I didn't lose any low end performance, there was a noticable difference in power above 2500rpm.

    Removing the old exhaust manifold was not particularly hard, but installing the new header could have been easier. I scratched up the finish some aligning the studs. I loosened up some other stuff around the header to make space. I spent about an hour trying to align the holes to the studs on the head. If I would've known how to remove head studs it would've been much easier. I got it in with some muscle and patience. It's only had about 100 miles on it since the install with no apparent problems.

    ok guys i just ordered my lce header, also it looks like dough thorley increased the price on their header so i said f#@% it! Will write up a review for anyone else still on the border line.

    from what i've seen here is that the LC header has better flow. i'm trying to save up for mine now.
