Leaking Oil Cooler

    I just did it without draining the oil or coolant. It does leak but not a ton, less than a quart of fluid. The hard part is getting in there to grab the old gasket and seat the new one, because you won't be able to pull it away from the truck more than a few inches with the hoses still attached. It worked out fine for me.

    Thanks to everyone in this thread! I'm contending with the same problem right now and glad to know it's probably not a huge deal / expensive fix.

    No need to drain your coolant. The large oring might be a little big so before you install put it in the freezer the night before.
