Maybe? One would think that everything's already there to do it once you install iOS 26 when it comes out. The head unit knows you're in park; the interface behaves differently when doing searches and the like, limiting you to using Siri rather than the keyboard when you're in gear.

I suppose all I'm worried about is that the infotainment unit can move enough data to play a video and has enough horsepower to handle doing it. I presume it can, as I've done AirPlay screen mirroring and video casting with several other different devices and had no trouble with it.

No, because we all know that people won’t use this while parked. Toyota especially knows how people are idiots and will get distracted while watching Netflix and point fingers at Toyota in a lawsuit after an accident.

The infotainment unit knows when you're parked. Try doing a search in Maps while parked versus when you're moving. When you're parked, you get a keyboard. When moving, you only get Siri and have to speak your search.

This isn't new. Head units have had a park switch line for decades. It's true that some dumbasses wired it up so it thought it was parked all the time so they could watch videos while driving, but this is an OEM setup. You won't have that here.

My mistake I didn’t read the linked article before commenting.
