Hello all, my '03 trd off road currently has axle wrap and it drives me nuts, it seems to happen all the time. I replaced my center support bearing a year ago and I recently took the slip yoke apart and greased it with that Ford XG8 grease. Didn't help my issue much. I'm thinking about getting new leaf packs. I don't really want a lift, but I wouldn't mind a small one if my axle wrap is fixed lol. I was thinking about either general spring HDs or deaver j59s, since they only advertise 1.5" of lift. If I could get some springs with no lift to fix the axle wrap, that would be nice, but I'm not sure anyone makes them good enough.

Would the deavers or the general HDs solve my wrap? (Also, if so, are the deavers worth the extra money?) Or would some rockauto/general SD/oem toyota springs solve my issue?

I also rarely carry much weight in the bed, if that helps. As for a possible lift, I need new front struts anyways so I'm already gonna be spending money there regardless if I get a lift or not.

    Thanks for any help!

The Deavers are NICE, but probably not necessary for you. They also don't have an overload leaf, which makes them impractical if you ever do put weight in the bed / tow. They also allow a ton more droop, and require a longer brake line and new shocks, etc...

The HD packs will give you lift unloaded as well (1-1.5"). Any reason you're looking at an HD pack rather than a standard one? Rockauto/General Springs/whoever else all pretty much sell the same product (look at the part numbers). At this point anything would be better than springs old enough to drink.

Thanks for the reply. I was just unsure if the standard leafs would even solve the problem, and if they would get weak after a year and then I'd get axle wrap again. I figured the HDs would last longer maybe. If the standard ones would mostly solve the wrap, I might just get those.

Does the deaver quality mainly shine offroad, making them not worth the money driving on the street? I'm gonna end up ordering shocks all around anyways so I'd be open to going with the j59s and making my whole suspension setup a little nicer. Although that is a lot of money lol. Do you know if the j59s require an exhaust bracket modification? Thanks again
