Other than disappointment when they realize it doesn’t magically unleash an extra 100hp? I don’t think so.

Okay. I got it for throttle lag but I've seen some videos where it caused all the warning lights to come on

All it does is improve throttle response.

That being said, in my opinion the Tacoma drives like a turd with respect to throttle response in stock form. I have the Sprint Booster on my Tacoma and I love it. No issues with install/warning lights or running it and I can easily disconnect it for smog "reasons" out here in CA without issue when I need to do a smog check. Don't have direct experience with the Pedal Commander though.

the Banks Pedal Monster is a much better made product with built in safeties that PC or the other throttle response controllers on the market dont have. Plus I like that it reverts to stock settings in reverse so no touchy pedal while backing up!

If interested in getting a quote on one, message myself or @paul@gotexhaust

There’s unfortunately a large number of people who mistakenly believe these are power-adding devices—but they’re not. I’m not saying you think that, but as long as you understand that it’s a throttle signal amplifier, you’ll likely be very happy with it. I run one on my ‘08 Pre-Runner, and it made a big difference in reducing the sluggish feeling that most, if not all, of our trucks have with the stock throttle mapping. These devices in various forms have been around since the 90's, huge in the JDM scene back then. I Like mine on CITY -2, it's a very small amount but it really makes the truck feel a bit more awake for lack of a better term.

I will say, though, that when I purchased mine, the Banks unit wasn’t available yet. In my opinion, it’s the better option of the two, offering much smoother amplification of the throttle signal. The Pedal Commander, on the other hand, can feel a bit too on/off at anything above CITY mode, at least in my experience. It's all personal preference.

It made a huge difference with throttle lag. My wife refused to drive it on Sport+

    Edit: installed last week

What safeties are built in on that brand?

1st off they also plug into the OBD2 for power instead of relying on the accelerator pedal circuit to power the unit. Also if the unit fails, it reverts to stock settings instead of throwing a CEL and going into limp mode. Another nice feature is this is the only unit that uses stock settings automatically when putting the truck in reverse. When you got the unit cranked up, reverse can be very touchy, not an issue with the Banks unit. Everything I just mentioned is not offered with other brands like PC or some of those ebay/Amazon brand types

Yeah the Banks is better. But I returned it and just decided to push the pedal harder

But if you don't want to do that, then Banks works very well
